For nine months, you have given all of your attention, all of your energy to your baby… Your body has worked unceasingly. Today, now that he is born, you want to start taking care of yourself again, even if maternity makes women more beautiful.

Each pregnancy is different
Before thinking of loosing weight, stretch marks… let your body rest and take time to rediscover yourself. Your silhouette has been transformed, but is certainly more expressive and fulfilled.

• Abdomen muscles to be tightened
For 6 to 8 weeks after having given birth, ask your massage therapist or your midwife for perennial re-education sessions.

Afterwards, you may think about a general fitness program

• A balanced diet
Whether you gained a little or a lot of weight during your pregnancy, a balanced and lighter diet, together with some sport activities will be enough to help you lose the excess. If you need to lose more than 5 kg , ask a nutritionist for advice. In any case, plan to lose weight progressively, in order not to gain back the weight lost rapidly.

New skin :

After 9 months of tension, a birth and the beginning of a new life, your skin needs care and gentleness to become bright and firm again.

• For softness, gumming
During your pregnancy, this beauty treatment is essential. But after the birth, it is absolutely necessary, since it eliminates the withered cells to better enhance their renewal. In order to do this, apply a peeling gel once per week, in the shower or in your bath. On fragile and stretched skin (stomach, thighs, chest), massage in small, gentle, circular gestures, while these areas are still damp enough. Rinse with warm water, you will soon notice that your skin will become firm again

• Smooth your skin
Everyday, without exception, soak your epidermis with active firming, hydrating and non-greasy agents. You will thus fight against tufts and you will enjoy more satin textured skin.

• To remodel, decongest
Thanks to an oil or a waterproof gel with a natural plant extract base, together with a light massage, you will help stop water retention.

• Hydrate for better health
Healthy skin must be hydrated. After a pregnancy, skin often becomes rather dry. Use a hydrating milk after your bath or shower. Concentrate on the sensitive areas : legs, bust, arms.

For nine months, your skin has been stretched as never before, and then is distended after having given birth. At the end of the pregnancy, your body produces a large quantity of cortisone, which causes skin fibres to rupture and the skin to lose some of its elasticity. This is why small pink marks will appear where there is tension : Thighs, stomach, breasts, buttocks… After having given birth, these marks will become white and sometimes diminish, but they will never disappear.

• Begin a treatment as of the first weeks
By taking precautions before gaining weight, you will give your skin all of the advantages necessary to fight against and resist dilation.

• Cream, morning and evening
Creams soften, nourish and hydrate the epidermis. Non greasy, with the most pleasant fragrance possible, apply each time you wash.

• Watch your weight
To avoid weight problems, and therefore stretch mark problems, watch your diet. If extra weight is not good for you, it will not be good for your baby either.

• And afterwards…
After having given birth, continue to apply your hydrating cream, and even more so if you breast feed your baby, since the volume of your breasts will increase with each feeding.
